Level doesn't define skill. Players advance at different paces. One of the challenges of being a new player is not having as many new players to play with(This game has been out for a while now). Just do your best and if you are an above average player you will pass those masters in no time as a much lower level.

If your teammates ragequit a ranked match you can leave with no additional penalty, that is if you don't feel like staying and finishing the game anyways
idk what to put here anymore

I've wondered, does your teammate leaving you make you actually not lose any MMR from that match? Or did you exclude that as a "penalty"?
I do now :>

No, it still goes down as a loss.

Is there any official confirmation of this (or how the ranking system in general works)? I’ve been unable to find any.

You lose the same MMR if you leave after a teammate quits as you would have playing the game out to the end.
You just don't get banned, or lose any ADDITIONAL points, for quitting after a teammate leaves.

On the other side of this, you deciding to leave guarantees yourself an MMR loss.
If you stay, there's always a chance the other team could suddenly disconnect, or have some kind of emergency that causes them to forfeit.

Worse case, you play the balance of the five minutes, and get some practice playing at a disadvantage, or practicing maneuvers you wouldn't try in a closer match.
That experience may help tip the balance in other closer matches down the road.
For those two reasons I refuse to quit any match I'm in, regardless of how lopsided it is.
