Because it is a violation of the Terms and Conditions for both Psyonix and Steam... as well as PSN and XBL. Accounts have been banned for it...

Hey lets have a system with crates like CS GO right? but lets not allow them to be sold for real money because thats not cool right? ( never mind that people have been ''trained'' by CS go to gamble real money, you know what this is not CS go but we sure as hell want to make their business model work for our game, but its not CS go gambling guys no real money trading allowed ) yeah good luck with that, you cant have both, depending on how many items they will add to the game, you guys can bet your asses a bigger and bigger ''black market'' will appear and there is nothing psy can do about it but make it ''legal'' . Its already happening with Alpha items, what makes you guys think it wont happen with other rare cosmetic items?
