I wanted to take this opportunity to talk to you about our latest title, ARC Squadron. As many of our veteran forumers may already know, Psyonix is an independent game developer, primarily focusing on Unreal Engine technology. We primarily do contract work, but on occasion we do get to release an original title. Most gamer's may not know about us, but have probably played something we had a hand in, including XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Mass Effect 3, Bulletstorm, Gears of War, and Unreal Tournament 2004. Our fans, you all, have kept our only other original title, SARPBC, alive and going strong for four years now. We consider that to be a success beyond our wildest expectations, and now we're hoping for an even bigger one with ARC Squadron. As you'll soon see, we've really tried to bring it to a new level.
As we've teased with trailers, the game is an on-rails space shooter, reminiscent of Star Fox. If you get nostalgia fever at the thought of that, you will love this game. We've made a full campaign, with tons of ships, tons of weapons, tons of maps, an original sound track and custom voice dialogue.
The game is designed with tablets in mind, but we've spent a lot of time making sure that the UI looks and runs great on smaller screens too, no squinting necessary. We've put a ton of thought in to making the controls simple and intuitive, so they don't get in your way.
Also, you might notice some new Psyonix members posting on the forums. As always, we'll be here to answer any questions, or hear any feedback you have about the game, and fix any problems you might find. The press campaign is just starting, so as new details get announced, we'll be able to share more details about ARC Squadron, and what went in to making it.
The ARC team are all very much looking forward to this release!
