Right I had a decent amount of time to think and I believe I have it, even if I don't I'll do this anyway. Anything that is currently happening in OGL forget about completely cus I'm coming with a new idea. To start with the 1 v 1 ladder will be closed down. Thank you to everyone who participated and a big thank you to Fen who organised it these last few weeks. Secondly teams are now removed from the current OGL and are being REPLACED, not entirely got rid of. Now onto the fun stuff.

So what's happening?
Well OGL is currently going nowhere and the only way to fix it is to change it. We had issues with money (fake) teams having enough players and activeness. So I'm looking towards changing OGL, for the better. Both Me, fen and assassin wrote different solutions to these problems including shorter seasons with more structure. Three week seasons with drafts after each and finally getting rid of teams all together to make way for more independent play. All of these had pros and cons but none are being taken forward. The simple fact is that the OGL community was too small for teams at the moment and required too much commitment from everyone involved in a team. I perfectly understand that. However, we also have people who live the team system and believe it makes OGL unique which I also agree with.

So I decided that we shall now change onto a new team system known throughout most of gaming as "clans". Now don't write me a hateful message just yet. The idea of clans is that you form a team with either friends or people who you feel you can win games with. The idea now is that you can set up a clan to take part in a overall leaderboard. Earning points by taking part in team/individual challenges, taking part in scrimmages and playing in tournaments. This offers a much more accessable and fun service from OGL whilst not entirely relying on the community. Also you don't have to be signed up to play in a OGL tournament, you just play. So we'll tackle each of these new things individually:

Is there any structure to the new OGL?
OGL is continuous and all tournies that are run will count towards OGL. However now we will introduce a new season system. Since this doesn't require constant upkeep we can add more. Firstly we will be splitting OGL into seasons. Are now named after the major tournament played in them. So only 1 major will be played per season. Unless Fen doesn't want his tournaments to be as part of the OGL majors these will include:

Duality
The Cup and Shield
Bionix
Battle Cars World Tour

At the same time other OGL events will be held like:
Team/Individual Weekly Challenges
Special Events

No one is forcing you to enter any of these tournaments and you can pick and choose the ones you want. This leaves the gap completely open for other tournaments since we will take a short break between each tournament. Also you guys are competent enough to juggle two tournaments, it isn't hard.

Entering any tournaments or events will result in points for you as a individual and your clan. There will be two separate leaderboards for both. So now you can represent yourselves. Here's where the fun part comes in. OGL can now be considered a tournament since you now represent yourselves and your clans.

How do I set up a clan?
Set it up however you want with whoever you want. Or if you don't want to, don't. Clans can have up to 5 players who decide they want to play together. You may only be on 1 clan at any time. You can swap clans, however the points you earn don't travel with you. In tournaments that require more than 1 player it is not compulsorily for you to enter with members of your clan. You can enter with anyone. However this will affect the amount of points you can win. Get someone to post who's in your clan and it's name.


At the end of a season the individual and teams with the most points will win and, hopefully, get golden names. After each season has finished we will take a break, however OGL events and weekly challenges will still run. Good luck everyone.

Must say it is a very good idea but as you said in chat there if you could expand it to other popular games etc fifa BF3 that would be pretty awesome. But yeah looks great idea

Like I said it's just a idea atm, at least half of what I said will be changed. New question, should I also do stuff for other games as well (fifa, bf3, mvc3 etc)

Your starting value will be determined by your HOF rating and your ranked rating.

An alternative would be to scrap the money system completely and just make it like an online fantasy league.
