Dude, its not about ping only. you can have 60 a play just fine. The main thing which I had to resolve with ISP was Jitter.
Measure it with http://www.pingtest.net/ and tell us the result. If you have more then 5ms, this is the issue. I had like 20ms, unplayable. Got resolved with ISP and have like 1-2ms , ping stayed the same.

Thanks for the answer, I know that many things are involved in online gaming smoothness. I posted my tracert because my ping seems to be fine when lagging, so ping was not the problem. I ran a test on pingtest.net and my jitter is 2 ms or so...

Hmm, that seems to be OK. Do you have possibility to invite your frend over and try with his pc from your place?
Also might wanna try som network tweaks e.g. http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php

My brother plays from PS4 and he has the same issues, maybe less frequently, even though he plays on wireless and I'm on ethernet. I really don't know what to do, since I play and played many other mmorpgs and mmofps and never had issues like this...

Edit: I've just ran a couple more tracert to a laggy european server I played in yesterday.

Hi!
I use Linux and I bought Rocket League about a year ago, when i saw that banner in Steam saying that Rocket League is coming to SteamOS. Well, after a year it finally came to SteamOS (Linux), but now i cannot connect to Rocket League servers. There are lots of instructions for Windows, but none for Linux. I have no firewall and, of course, no IE. I checked Rocket League's cache, it didn't help. I have no problems playing other online games.
So, what should i do to fix this?

Hi all, I've been having some weird connection issues recently (since Rumble release).

Every time I try to find a game, it refuses to put me into a game in my region (US), even if i have search set to my region only. It's been causing a lot of issues in game such as high ping, and disconnects. I tried to do my first placement match and all that happened was me rubber-banding, and eventually getting disconnected and banned for 15 minutes. I've made sure my ports are forwarded, all regions on my pc and steam set to US, everything in the troubleshooting guid here and on the main website for Rocket League. Any idea on whats causing this?

Today I've been unable to connect to a game. I consistently get an error 67. I've been playing with no issues for the last couple weeks. The only thing that changed was an automatic Windows 10 update that happened earlier today. I'm assuming something in that update messed up my connection settings. I have opened up all the ports mentioned in the RL troubleshoot doc. I can connect to games no problem from my mac laptop on my home router so I know that the issue probably lies locally on my PC. Any ideas about what might have gotten messed up during a windows update?

Hello everybody,

i have a problem with joining any game since i updated my fritz box 7390 on version 06.51.
Since then i can connect to psn and i can also search for games in Rocket League. The number of persons in Playlists is also normal. If i press search for a game, it lasts a short amount of time and Rocket League finds a server and tries to join.

But now my problem. Rocket League gets into the loading screen but didn't load the game. This lasts till it gets back to the menu with the error code 71.

I tried to search in different areas with different game modes but this always happens. As described I did the Port forwarding but it didn't help out. Other games like Battlefield 4 have no problems to play online. I live in Germany if this is important.

Any help would be very appreciated!

edit: I reset my Fritz Box and I solved the problem.

I was unable to connect to Rocket League servers on linux (Fedora 24). I had to apply a work-around to get it to work. Work-around. From the post this seems to be distro-specific.

Hi all,

I've quit the same problem here, yet playing on Xbox One. Since Aquadome DLC release, It's quite a struggle for me to connect to a game. 75% of my attempts come to error 78 or 67. Yesterday, I've even been disconnected from ranked and tried to reconnect but was unsuccessful.

Before that, I had no similar problems, so I don't really understand what's going on ? Is it coming from me (at least from my connection settings) or is it coming from DLC release ?

Any help would be very appreciated.

Hey to all of you!

Rocket League on Mac just doesn't work properly at all for me. I'm usually having a ping of about 60, which wouldn't be that much of a problem, but the next thing then is, that I get framelags (Although i got a graphics card, playing on lowest possible settings, with resolution of 1280x1080 I think).

Why is that ? And why are there always lags in the games ? Like it doesn't even matter which ping I got, all that matters is that Rocket League is able to lag on Mac.

Help would be appreciated

I have been unable to connect to Rocket League for a week now.

I have been playing Rocket League on my xBox One for six months with no issues until a week ago. Since then, I have tried the following:

1) stopped Rocket League and restarted
2) completely rebooted the xBox
3) completely uninstalled Rocket League, downloaded, and reinstalled

None of those have addressed the problem, and nothing else online gives any more suggestions.

I can play "Season" on Rocket League with no issues, but it won't connect to online.

My xBox handle is BigBoyK68. My email is [email protected]

There's a suggestion on the first page here: Port Forwarding.
It will have to be done from a PC, but it affects everything connected to your modem/router

Ok, so I set the Port Forwarding on my Linksys Router. It solved the problem ... for 4 hours. Then, all of the sudden, it started saying "not logged in to Rocket League" servers again. I went back to my computer and checked, and my router is still set to Port Forwarding 7000-9000 as well as ports 80 and 443, per that document you addressed (see screenshot)

I just launched YouTube from my xBox One, and internet is working fine.

Now what?

I have the same problem as Bigboyk68 on my XboxOne.
Just for simplicity, I played this game for months without having problems, after the last release, I have had the message that I am not connected to the servers.((the yellow button on menu(market I think), does not appears)) To avoid any problem being with port release, I did the most drastic thing that was putting my console in the DMZ zone, and the problem persists. The experience of the game is very bad for this! Other games I can play normally. I'm already thinking that the biggest problem is not just with door release. The cross-play experience does not know if it is affecting the servers, but I lost interest in the game for this reason, not being able to play!

I spent time with Time Warner trying to confirm that the internet connection is solid. Time Warner says yes after we did tests, although they put me on a 72 hour monitor to look for internet fluctuations.

Reboot of xBox One did not solve the issue, so as of now, I am still unable to connect to Rocket League servers.

Re: Connection Troubleshooting

Postby BigBoyK68 on Thu Nov 17, 2016 6:55 am

I finally have Rocket League working on my xBox One online again.

1) I tested my internet connection extensively myself and with Time Warner, and we couldn't find any issues. I have a newer 200 Mb down/20 Mb up service and the xBox was downloading at over 100 Mb

2) My modem from Time Warner is only 5 months old, so although I considered swapping it out, I didn't think it was the issue.

3) I decided to buy a new router. That solved the problem. I had to add the port forwarding to the new router for ports 7000 to 9000, but then it worked just fine.

To be clear, my old router worked, and was able to stream Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, and I had 8 devices connected to it. Yet, some of my computer internet connections were slower the last few months, my son has seen YouTube delays, and Rocket League wasn't working. I bought a $199 Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 Router (Model R7000) that supports game streaming and up to 10 concurrent devices and has a greater range, and now everything seems to work fine.

They had a $69 router at Best Buy that I considered. It might have solved the problem for less money; not sure. I do not know whether my old router was simply above capacity (in which case replacing with a new low end router would NOT have fixed the issue), or whether my old router was starting to die slowly (in which case the new low end router would have worked fine). Either way, a new router stopped the problem with "unable to connect to Rocket League servers"

I spent several hours last night getting my butt kicked online; apparently the month of playing time I lost has put me behind.

I have connection problems since today.
Platform: PC

I get only the following:
Dirkened wrote:* “Not Logged in to Rocket League Servers”

The playlists are "Loading..." endless.

I can click reconnect, but then I get the message "Error - Error while communicating with the rocket league servers. Please try again later."
It's only my account, because I tried to play with family shared accounts and it worked.

I think I got banned permantly or something. I got a 24h ban with the Rumble Update for being verbal offensive. I fully respected it, because it was legit. Then I played with chat disabled all the time.
A month ago I started playing solo to grind to champ in 2s and in 3s I started a week ago and thought, I need the chat to communicate, so I enabled it.
Then there were games, where the playstyle not even fit a bit. So a loss was guaranteed. Maybe I accepted it sometimes too early and stopped playing (driving around, letting them try whatever they tried to achieve 1v2 or 2v3).

I know this behavior is banable. I fully respect the descision to ban for it and since I got reported for it multiple times, it could be a permanent ban.

TLDR; Am I banned, or do those connection problems happen randomly to single steam accounts?
