40,000 Players Online

Postby SIMY on Thu Nov 30, 2017 3:23 am

Sad day to see this. They have a tournament coming up. We get to play with the same golds over and over and over. :)

I saw a player with the Flash wheels and was like, "it's out!?" ...and then remembered that I have to wait, because I already own a digital copy. :(

Talked to a friend about these forums. He doesn't use them and he's in tourny. Silver kids think they are so good when they hit gold. Best video's tonight. Again NO WONDER you have no new players.

Just started playing on my steam account yesterday, after playing for a little over a year on XB1. New account, so I was matched up with people who didn't know how to aerial at all, whiffed constantly, and had no idea about positioning or rotation. I suppose it's possible they were all Rocketeers who recently lost limbs and were playing on some sort of Stephen Hawking-type set-up, but I find it more likely that they're new players. Of course, I could be mistaken...

Mmr can go down to -100 iirc, and new players start with 0. So the more experienced players in your range would be either climbing out or going down into that mess. Or smurfing, like you.

LOL Unintentional smurfing, I suppose. I bought the game on PC about 6 months ago while it was on sale so I could use the Steam Workshop. I never played an online match on PC until this weekend, because my daughter has been hogging my console. It only took about 10 matches to climb out of the swamp. My MMR was jumping up around 50+ per match, since my total games was so low.

I don't see the attraction of smurfing. I'd much rather play against players at my own level or slightly higher.

I get the feeling you didn't catch the sarcasm in my post, but I guess it can be hard to tell online.
